City Council Minutes November 5,2012 10.B. 12-529 Review of Proposal from Alameda County Medical Center for a Three-Year Financial commitment from the City of San Leandro, Combined with Financial Contributions from the County of Alameda and Eden Township Healthcare District, to Prevent the Potential Closure of San Leandro Hospital and to Maintain the Facility as an Acute Care Hospital with 24 Hour, 7 Days a Week Emergency Services under the Ownership and Operation of the Alameda County Medical Center 12-544 MOTION: Motion Accepting the Hybrid Proposal; Indicating Approval in Principle of Providing a Financial Subsidy of up to$1 Million a Year for Three Years in Support of San Leandro Hospital; and Authorizing the City Manager to Initiate Time-Limited Negotiations with Alameda County Medical Center(ACMC) for the Express Purpose of Reaching an Agreement, Subject to Approval by the City Council, on the Specific Terms of a Subsidy in the Form of a Payment Directly to ACMC for the Purpose of Subsidizing the Operations of an Emergency Department and Acute Inpatient Services at the San Leandro Hospital for a Period of Not Less Than Three Years A motion was made by Councilmember Prola,seconded by Councilmember Reed,that this minute order be adopted.
