The
funds are for the acquisition and development of neighborhood, community, and regional
parks, and recreation lands and facilities. City staff asked residents for input on how they
would like the money spent, and then chose to proceed with the top ten projects.
The subject project received an allocation of $988,000 to renovate three group picnic areas
(the Seagull, Mallard and Otter areas) at Marina Park. These three picnic areas were over 40
years old, and their original wooden shade structures were removed several years ago due to
deterioration.
Analysis
Construction is now complete and was performed in compliance with the contract documents.
The project completely reconstructed the Mallard, Otter and Seagull group picnic areas with
new concrete slabs, wind screens, picnic tables, barbeque pits, serving tables, trash cans and
fabric panel shade structures.
Page 1 City of San Leandro Printed on 5/29/2013
