City of San Leandro <br />Meeting Date: September 16, 2013 <br />Staff Report <br />Agenda Section:File Number:13-398 CONSENT CALENDAR <br />Agenda Number:8.F. <br />TO:City Council <br />FROM:Chris Zapata <br />City Manager <br />BY:Uchenna Udemezue <br />Engineering & Transportation Director <br />FINANCE REVIEW:David Baum <br />Finance Director <br />TITLE:Staff Report for a Resolution Accepting the Work for the Toyon Park Pathway <br />Rehabilitation Project, Project Number 2013.0280 <br />SUMMARY AND RECOMMENDATIONS <br />Staff recommends acceptance of the work by Grade Tec , Inc., filing of the Notice of <br />Completion, release of the performance and payment bonds, and release of the maintenance <br />bond upon completion of the one-year maintenance period <br />BACKGROUND <br />On March 2, 2009, the City of San Leandro (City) received notice from the East Bay Regional <br />Parks District (EBRPD) of its allotment of $3,740,998 in Measure WW Park Bond funds. <br />These bond funds are earmarked for the acquisition and development of neighborhood, <br />community, and regional parks and recreation lands and facilities. The City asked residents <br />for their input on how they would like the money spent, and used this information to establish <br />ten priority projects, including the Toyon Park Pathway Rehabilitation project . The poor <br />condition of the asphalt pavement at the City’s parks was noted as a feature that the <br />community wanted improved with Measure WW funding. <br />Analysis <br />This project reconstructed the asphalt concrete pathway at Toyon Park . Construction is now <br />complete and was performed in compliance with the contract documents. <br />Previous Actions <br />·On February 17, 2009, by Resolution No. 2009-023, the City Council authorized the <br />application for grant funds from the East Bay Regional Parks District under Measure WW, <br />the Park Bond Extension <br />·On February 4, 2013, by Resolution No. 2013-017, the City Council approved the plans <br />Page 1 City of San Leandro Printed on 9/11/2013
