Streetscepe improvements will be needed to
ensure that these strategic thoroughfares are welcoming and attractive. Streetscepe
improvements will also help to "humanize" the streets making them more amendable to
pedestrian and bicycle traffic es well es transit. These improvements, combined with other Next
Generation implementation plans, are pert of larger stretegize to attract and retain innovative
high-tech businesses tu this part uf San Leandro.
Accomplishments To-Date: Funding of the design work for Marina Boulevard has been
identified as e future project through the City's C|P process. This project will likely be revised or
expended to include Merced. Upon completion, the design work will provide the information
needed to identify the funding required to implement the improvements. Passage of regional
transportation funding initiative, such as Measure B'l, which failed by e very slight margin in
20l2, will be essential tu bringing this project.
ity of San Leandro I Economic Development Strategy and Work Plan I December 2013
