Minutes - San Leandro City Council Meeting - February 6, 1995 Page - 7 - <br /> 9. CITY COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> A. Council Member Galvan requested a Work Session regarding A.C. Transit <br /> bus routes and the City's authority to regulate them. <br /> Council Member Galvan requested that the 1995-96 budget include a <br /> shopper incentive program such as Shop San Leandro. <br /> Council Member Gal van asked for a status report on Board and Commission <br /> terms; the City Manager said this would be discussed at the next Work <br /> Session. <br /> B. Council Member Perry said A.C. Transit is now holding hearings on <br /> routes and route realignments. <br /> Council Member Perry commended the Library staff for the Chinese New <br /> Year Family Fun Night. <br /> Council Member Perry requested that, before Council Members attend <br /> conferences, a Work Session be scheduled so the Council can provide <br /> input for the Member to take to the conference. <br /> C. Council Member Polvorosa said BART has buses which run right in front <br /> of A.C. Transit buses and suggested the two agencies should coordinate <br /> their operations. He also said he does not understand why A.C. Transit <br /> runs empty tandem buses through San Leandro. <br /> Council Member Polvorosa said he attended both the San Leandro High <br /> School and the Arroyo High School Crab Feeds; they were a lot of fun <br /> and the school districts earned quite a bit of money for their <br /> athletics programs. <br /> D. Council Member Kerr said A.C. Transit runs six buses an hour on his <br /> street, and he hopes to get them rerouted. <br /> Council Member Kerr said he has received many compliments from the <br /> Congestion Management Agency on Gary Kruger's work. <br /> E. Council Member Loeffler thanked Judy Lieberman for her presentation <br /> regarding recycling to the Broadmoor Homeowners' Association and for <br /> her efforts in recycling. <br /> Council Member Loeffler noted the recent 40th anniversary of the GM <br /> Training Center; he said they have been a good partner with the City <br /> and requested a letter be sent thanking them for their work. <br /> Council Member Loeffler requested the City Council adopt a motion to <br /> keep Amtrak's Capitol Train in service. He said a number of new <br /> stations will be coming on line, and he would like to see a staff <br /> report and motion in support of this service. <br />
