Minutes - San Leandro City Council Meeting - February 6, 1995 Page - 6 - <br /> NEW BUSINESS (continued) <br /> Jim O'Leary, Assistant Finance Director, described the two items for <br /> which he is recommending waiver of competitive bidding - a fire pumper <br /> and a street sweeper. <br /> In response to City Council questions, he enumerated the reasons for <br /> the waiver, including standardization, quality, and ability to service <br /> locally for the pumper, and a $20,000 price reduction on a used <br /> sweeper. He said the pumper is a replacement for a 1971 unit, and the <br /> sweeper is required to meet the enhanced street sweeping required under <br /> the Clean Water Act. <br /> The following Resolution was then introduced: <br /> Resolution No. 95-18, Resolution Waiving Competitive Bidding for <br /> Purchase of a Fire Pumper Engine (authorizes a negotiated contract for <br /> purchase of a Pierce Manufacturing, Inc. , fire pumper engine) . (1368) <br /> Introduced by Council Member Polvorosa, who moved its adoption, <br /> seconded by Council Member Kerr, and carried by a majority vote (7) . <br /> B. Resolution No. 95-19, Resolution Waiving Competitive Bidding for <br /> Purchase of a Broom Street Sweeper (authorizes a negotiated contract <br /> for purchase of a Mobile street sweeper) . (1368) <br /> Introduced by Council Member Perry, who moved its adoption, seconded by <br /> Council Member Polvorosa, and carried by a majority vote (7) . <br /> C. Approval of Work Session Items Requiring Action. <br /> None <br /> D. Report on Closed Session Actions Taken. <br /> Steve Meyers, City Attorney, said the City Council met with its labor <br /> negotiator and no final action was taken on either of the Closed <br /> Session items. <br /> 8.
