Minutes - San Leandro City Council Meeting - February 21, 1995 Page - 2 -
8:00 P.M. REGULAR MEETING -- Community Library Center, Lecture Hall
300 Estudillo Avenue
1. CALL TO ORDER
2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG
3. ROLL CALL
PRESENT: Council Members Galvan, Kerr, Loeffler, Myers, Perry, Polvorosa;
Mayor Corbett
ABSENT: None
4. PRESENTATIONS
None
5. PUBLIC COMMENTS
Public Comments are limited to 5 minutes per person. The public is invited
to make any comments related to Agenda items (including San Leandro
Redevelopment Agency, San Leandro Parking Authority, and San Leandro
Industrial Development Authority) or other items of public interest at this
time. Comments regarding Public Hearing items will be heard during the
Public Hearing portion of the Agenda.
A. Lou Filipovich, 15376 Laverne Drive, read a Sovereignty Resolution
expressing support for the U.S. Conference of Mayors resolution
requesting that the Federal Government provide funding for capital
projects and interest-free money created by Congress for local
government to pay off debt, bring greater funding ability to local
government, and decrease taxes .
B. Dana Johnson, 343 Farrelly Drive, spoke regarding Bayfair Mall . He
said he took a chance to get the City to address problems there. He
said his goal in May 1993 was to address perceptual problems far in
advance of the holiday season to increase sales at holiday time. He
said recent actions were to create media attention on problems at
Bayfair. People will not return to the mall until the perception of
the mall as safe is created. This must be a carefully orchestrated and
quickly implemented plan to attract new vendors and increase foot
traffic. He wants what is best for San Leandro.
