Minutes - San Leandro City Council Meeting - March 6, 1995 Page - 2 - 5. PUBLIC COMMENTS Public Comments are limited to 5 minutes per person. The public is invited to make any comments related to Agenda items (including San Leandro Redevelopment Agency, San Leandro Parking Authority, and San Leandro Industrial Development Authority) or other items of public interest at this time. Comments regarding Public Hearing items will be heard during the Public Hearing portion of the Agenda. A. Dana Johnson, Farrelly Drive, thanked the City employees for taking furloughs for the last few years and said the City has some great employees. He suggested the City privatize cable-casting of Council meetings by selling advertizing on the Government Channel . He noted Radio Station KSFO will be broadcasting from Washington D.C. , during the National League of Cities Conference. B. Lou Filipovich, 15376 Laverne Drive, asked if the budget will be balanced through increased taxes. He spoke regarding a Sovereignty Resolution he had presented at the last Council meeting and said no one called him regarding it. He said people who are not the Council 's choice should be put on City committees. He said taxpayers want local government to keep taxes down and maintain necessary services; there are 6,000 taxing agencies which are running amuck; taxes increased in San Leandro by $160 to $180 last year. 6. CONSENT CALENDAR Consent Calendar items are typically routine in nature and are considered for approval by the City Council with one single action. The City Council may remove items from the Consent Calendar for purposes of discussion. Items listed on the Consent Calendar are deemed to have been read by title. The Consent Calendar was approved as follows: Introduced by Council Member Kerr, who moved adoption of the Consent Calendar, with all items deemed to have been read by title, seconded by Council Member Myers, and carried by a majority vote (7) .
