Minutes - San Leandro City Council Meeting - April 3, 1995 Page - 16 -
CITY COUNCIL COMMENTS (continued)
Council Member Loeffler asked for an update on the Arts Council
discussed in Washington, D.C. The City Manager said information was
provided from Len Simon, and Dave Bohne is following up.
Council Member Loeffler noted the City Attorney's response regarding
railroad crossings and a formal action to file a complaint. The City
Attorney said the Council could discuss this matter at a Closed Session
or direction for the City Attorney to file a complaint could be placed
on the next Council Agenda. The City Council directed that the matter
be placed on the next Agenda.
Council Member Loeffler noted tomorrow would be "Duck, Cover and Hold"
Day.
F. Council Member Myers said, at the last couple of meetings, he asked
staff for information regarding outside agencies; he would like that
information in the Thursday packet. The City Manager said it would be
provided in the packet.
Council Member Myers said, related to Boards and Commissions, that the
City Council needed to move forward and fill seats. He said the
vacancies are hurting the people of San Leandro.
G. City Manager Mike Oliver noted an article in The Chronicle, regarding
potholes developing everywhere due to heavy storms, coupled with lack
of maintenance. He said staff will provide information at a Work
Session.
H. Mayor Corbett said the Golden Agers asked her to look into problems
with heating the Library on Sundays and said it is too cold.
Mayor Corbett said she made it to all the baseball openings, but it
would be nice if the openings could be staggered. She said they
exemplify what the community's all about - hundreds of children and
parents getting together. She said it was good to see the patience and
dedication of the coaches. She thanked all involved.
10.
