CALL TO ORDER <br /> 2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG <br /> 3. ROLL CALL <br /> PRESENT: Council Members Galvan, Kerr, Loeffler, Myers, Perry, Polvorosa; <br /> Mayor Corbett <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> 4. PRESENTATIONS <br /> A. Presentation of Proclamation to the San Leandro Public Safety <br /> Dispatchers in Recognition of National Public Safety Telecommunicators' <br /> Week, April 2-8, 1995. <br /> Mayor Corbett read the Proclamation and said the public safety <br /> dispatchers play an important role and are unsung heros. Cathy Pickard <br /> of the Police Department said this was a challenging year during which <br /> the dispatchers faced a staffing shortage, work furlough, increased <br /> calls for service, and worked 2, 155 hours of overtime. She said it is <br /> important for them to work as a team and help each other as best they <br /> can. The Police Department voted that the entire Communications Center <br /> should receive the award rather than just one individual , and she <br /> accepted it on behalf of the entire dispatching team. <br /> B. Proclamation Declaring April 8-15, 1995, San Leandro Creek Watershed <br /> Awareness Week. <br /> Mayor Corbett thanked everyone involved with the Friends of the Creek <br /> program and read the Proclamation. Rick Richards accepted the <br /> Proclamation on behalf of the Friends of the Creek. He acknowledged <br /> the work and dedication of Jessica Fiorello from the San Francisco <br /> Estuary Institute, Sue and Doug Simms, Bob and Dena Berger, Dennis <br /> Smith, and his wife, Pam Richards. He invited everyone to the Festival <br /> on April 8, 1995, and said tee-shirts would be for sale. He thanked <br /> Mayor Corbett and City Manager Mike Oliver for their help and presented <br /> the City of San Leandro with a Certificate of Membership. <br /> C. Presentation in Celebration of National Community Development Week, <br /> April 10-16, 1995. <br /> See Item 4.D. <br />
