Council Member <br /> Perry explained that she brought this matter to the Council to make it <br /> above-board.' It`is'a- totally new—structure—with only four committees <br /> making major policy decisions for ratification by the entire Board, and <br /> she felt the Member should be involved in the committees. <br /> Mayor Corbett said she was not provided with the memo regarding <br /> committees. <br /> Following continued discussion, the City Council voted on the motion as <br /> follows: — — <br /> Minute Order No. 95-57, Matter of Designation of City Representative to <br /> Alameda County Waste Management Authority Subcommittees. (1156/2047) <br /> On motion by Council Member Polvorosa, who moved its approval , seconded <br /> by Council Member Myers, with Mayor Corbett voting no (1) , and carried <br /> by a majority vote (6) , the City Council designated the City's <br /> representative to the Alameda County Waste Management Authority, Linda <br /> Perry, to serve as the representative on the Authority's Facilities <br /> Committee and Planning Committee. <br /> 7. CITY COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> A. Council Member Myers wished everyone a Happy Fourth of July. <br /> B. Council Member Loeffler spoke regarding the San Leandro Children's and <br /> Youth Project meeting hosted by Supervisor Wilma Chan. He said the San <br /> Lorenzo Unified School District received a $400,000 Healthy Start grant <br /> and said the San Leandro Unified School District is exploring those <br /> possibilities. <br /> Council Member Loeffler commended the Davis Street Community Center for <br /> its health care facilities. <br /> Council Member Loeffler noted the 50th anniversary of the United <br /> Nations was celebrated today. <br /> C. Vice Mayor Kerr said the Chamber of Commerce Membership Drive resulted <br /> in 112 new members. <br /> Vice Mayor Kerr said he was pleased to be the featured speaker at the <br /> Our Future Tots graduation into Kindergarten ceremony. <br />
