Minutes - San Leandro City Council Meeting - August 7, 1995 Page - 7 - <br /> NEW BUSINESS (continued) <br /> Council Member Polvorosa concurred. <br /> Vice Mayor Kerr discussed some of the terms of the agreement, such as <br /> an increase of 3% rather than 4%, rent does not increase when the <br /> mobile home changes hands, etc. <br /> Council Member Galvan said he is interested in doing what is right for <br /> the people who live there and in having them develop their own <br /> solution. He commended the tenants' committee for all they did. <br /> Council Member Perry said the people have spoken, with over 78% voting <br /> in favor of the agreement. She asked if the subcommittee would <br /> continue as far as other parks are concerned. Mayor Corbett said there <br /> had been no discussion of this matter. Council Member Polvorosa <br /> suggested the committee be made an ad hoc committee. <br /> Mayor Corbett thanked the subcommittee and the tenants' committee and <br /> said they worked very hard. <br /> The following Resolution was then introduced: <br /> Resolution No. 95-164, Resolution Adopting Space Rent Agreement By and <br /> Between Brandenburg-Staedler Mission Bay Mobilehome Community, the City <br /> of San Leandro, and the Tenants of Mission Bay Mobilehome Community <br /> (adopts new five-year Lease, commencing December 1, 1995) . (2720) <br /> Introduced by Council Member Galvan, who moved its adoption, seconded <br /> by Council Member Kerr, and carried by a majority vote (7) . <br /> B. Resolution Adopting Modified Definitions for Ethnic Groups Comprising <br /> Minority Business Enterprises for Public Contract Work Involving <br /> Community Development Block Grant Funds (adopts modified definitions <br /> for minority business enterprises for purposes of public contract work <br /> involving Community Development Block Grant funds) . <br /> Jacqui Diaz, Community Development Block Grant Coordinator, said the <br /> City Council adopted a Resolution defining MBE/WBE as 51% ownership on <br /> June 6th. After its review of that Resolution, HUD requested revised <br /> definitions of minority ethnicities to provide consistency in ethnicity <br /> data. In response to Council questions, Ms. Diaz said San Leandro does <br /> not assign extra points or preferential treatment; job notification <br /> procedures which encourage MBE's, etc. , are provided. <br />
