Minutes - San Leandro City Council Meeting - September 5, 1995 Page - 9 - <br /> PUBLIC HEARINGS (continued) <br /> The following Ordinance was then introduced: <br /> Ordinance No. 95-019, An Ordinance of the City Council of the City of <br /> San Leandro Amending Section 1-2-666, Article 6, of the City of San <br /> Leandro Zoning Code (A-95-5) . (1024/1099) <br /> Introduced by Council Member Loeffler, who moved that it be passed to <br /> print, seconded by Council Member Polvorosa, and carried by a majority <br /> vote (7) . <br /> 9. CITY COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> • <br /> A. Council Member Perry extended congratulations for the Festival of the <br /> Arts; she said there has been a three-fold increase in youth artists. <br /> Council Member Perry said August 26 was the 75th anniversary of women's <br /> right to vote. <br /> B. Vice Mayor Kerr said he attended a Long Beach City Council meeting and <br /> was impressed by the active participation and proactive initiatives by <br /> Council Members. <br /> Vice Mayor Kerr described his visit to a water factory in Orange County <br /> and the way in which treated water is returned to groundwater through <br /> reverse osmosis. <br /> Vice Mayor Kerr said Greenhouse Marketplace will celebrate its 10th <br /> anniversary on September 23rd and 24th. <br /> Vice Mayor Kerr said the City Council needs to look for more activities <br /> for youth. <br /> Vice Mayor Kerr said he received several phone calls objecting to <br /> spending funds for the community survey; he said the Board and <br /> Commissions also seemed to object to the survey in their comments on <br /> the 10 Point Plan. Mayor Corbett noted that the survey was not part of <br /> the 10 Point Plan. <br /> C. Council Member Loeffler said he attended the Mulford Gardens <br /> Improvement Association Potluck on August 29th and enjoyed the memories <br /> that were related and stories that were told. <br /> Council Member Loeffler said he will be hosting a Town Hall Meeting on <br /> September 19 at 7:00 p.m. at the Washington School ; he said it will be <br /> an open agenda. <br /> Council Member Loeffler requested a status report on the cleanup of I- <br /> 880. The City Manager said staff has been in touch with Cal -Trans; <br /> portions of I-880 have been cleaned up, and more are scheduled. <br />
