CALL TO ORDER <br /> 2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG <br /> 3. ROLL CALL <br /> PRESENT: Council Members Galvan, Kerr, Loeffler, Myers, Perry, Polvorosa; <br /> Mayor Corbett <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> 4. PRESENTATIONS <br /> A. Commendation for Wes McClure on the Occasion of His 80th Birthday and <br /> In Honor of All That He Has Done for the City of San Leandro. <br /> Mayor Corbett thanked Mr. McClure for serving as City Manager for 28 <br /> years. She described him as a man of vision. She discussed his work <br /> as a "range rider" for the League of California Cities and thanked him <br /> for his active participation in the community. Mayor Corbett read the <br /> commendation and presented it to Mr. McClure. <br /> Mr. McClure thanked the City Council for the Commendation. He said <br /> many people were involved in his work as City Manager and he thanked <br /> them all . <br /> B. "World Food Day" - Recognition of Community Organizations and Citizens <br /> Whose Ongoing Contributions Are Helping to End Hunger in San Leandro. <br /> The City Clerk read the Proclamation. Mayor Corbett presented End <br /> Hunger Awards recognizing efforts to end hunger in San Leandro to <br /> representatives of Monroe Elementary School , Davis Street Community <br /> Center, Kraft/General Foods, Halcyon Baptist Church Food Pantry, the <br /> U.S. Postal Service, and Harold Kitzmann. <br /> C. Proclamation Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the United Nations. <br /> The City Clerk read the Proclamation. Council Member Loeffler <br /> announced a ceremony on October 21, 1995, at Jack London Square, <br /> celebrating the 50th anniversary of the United Nations and recognizing <br /> the more than 185 nations that participate in the United Nations. <br />
