Resolution No. 95-235, Resolution Nominating and Appointing Members to <br /> the Youth Advisory Commission - Jachyn Davis, District 1; Natalie <br /> Chattoo, District 2; Josh Reinholds, District 2; Candice Yip, District <br /> 2; Tanisha Fernandez, District 3; Dana Nardine, District 3; Robert <br /> Endres, District 4; Nicholas Yuen, District 4; Louis Heystek, District <br /> 6; Norman Valera, District 6; and Sabrina Vazquez, District 6. (2680) <br /> Introduced by Council Member Perry, who moved its adoption, seconded by <br /> Council Member Myers, and carried by a majority vote (7) . <br /> The City Clerk administered the Oath of Office to the newly appointed <br /> • Commissioners. The City Council welcomed the Commissioners and thanked <br /> them for their interest in serving youth. <br /> B. Approval of Work Session Items Requiring Action. <br /> -° Matter of Casa Peralta Seismic Evaluation. <br /> Steve Meyers, City Attorney, said the Council could take action in <br /> accordance with the Municipal Code and authorize the City Manager to <br /> proceed with a contract for the Priority 1 Collapse items on the <br /> basis that there is an immediate hazard to the public health and <br /> welfare and that an emergency situation exists. <br /> Council Member Loeffler said the Council just received the report <br /> and he did not see any difficulty in waiting until the next meeting <br /> so that the media and the public have time to get information. He <br /> said, if there is danger, yellow tape can be placed around the site. <br /> It was moved by Council Member Loeffler, seconded by Vice Mayor <br /> Kerr, to schedule consideration of this matter for the December 18, <br /> 1995, City Council meeting. <br /> Council Member Galvan said reinforcement of the structure should <br /> proceed unless the City Council does not want to proceed with saving <br /> the Casa Peralta. He said to delay would be negligent. <br /> The City Manager said the Casa Peralta will be closed tomorrow and <br /> will not be reopened until it meets the Chief Building Official 's <br /> standards. <br /> Vice Mayor Kerr recommended postponing a decision for two weeks to <br /> give the Council time for input and the public and press time to <br /> look at the report. <br /> Mayor Corbett said the report which was presented had been through <br /> peer review. <br /> • <br />
