The motion <br /> failed, with Council Members Loeffler, Kerr, and Mayor Corbett <br /> voting yes, and Council Members Galvan, Perry, Polvorosa, and Myers <br /> voting no. <br /> The following Motion was then introduced: <br /> Minute Order No. 95-84, Motion Regarding Casa Peralta Seismic <br /> Evaluation. (1915) <br /> On motion by Council Member Galvan, who moved its approval , seconded <br /> by Council Member Polvorosa, with Council Members Kerr and Loeffler <br />• voting no (2) , and carried by a majority vote (5) , the City Council <br /> directed staff to proceed with the Priority 1 Collapse Hazard items. <br /> C. Lou Filipovich, 15376 Laverne Drive, urged the audience to suggest <br /> solutions. He said he agreed with Vice Mayor Kerr's letter regarding <br /> the San Leandro Plume. He said many people fail to offer a solution. <br /> He asked who pays and how much does it cost. He said he is a <br /> taxpayers' advocate. He said he supported the business license tax <br /> because the City needed the money to balance the budget. He said it <br /> shows disrespect by the way the City is spending money and hiding <br /> behind safety. He said the people should decide if the Casa Peralta is <br /> a safety problem or not. He said there are other ways of getting the <br /> vote of the people than an election. He said the cost of elections is <br /> not an issue. <br />
