Lou Filipovich, 15376 Lavern Drive, said the City of Oakland was served with a lawsuit regarding Dunsmuir Heights. He said a letter was published some time ago in a number of newspapers related to the taxpayers' .involvement in situations such as Dunsmuir Heights and said the taxpayers should put up a bonafide proposal to buy the property and to put conditions on it and not to get bogged down with value and profit arguments. He said there is going to be a proposal in Alameda County to buy the property, and it is going to be paid for by people who live within Alameda County through an option to pay for the property by designating part of their property taxes to pay for it. He said he was asked what the position of the City Council would be if the citizens of San Leandro joined in on this voluntarily and designated a certain amount of their property tax be paid toward this project. F. Brady Ferguson, Youth Advisory Commissioner, 309 Beverly Drive, announced there would be a "Teen Speak Out" to allow teens to voice their opinions to public officials on Tuesday, May 25, 1993, from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. , in the City Council Chambers. He invited Council Members to attend and listen to the youth. He said topics would include campus life, public safety, violence, and gangs. 6. CONSENT CALENDAR A. The minutes of the meeting of April 5, 1993 were approved as submitted. B. Resolution No. 93-66, Resolution Approving Memorandum of Understanding for the Exchange of Fire Protection Between the City of San Leandro and the City of Oakland (authorizes the San Leandro and Oakland Fire Departments to implement an Agreement to furnish fire and rescue assistance to each other and coordinate response to fire threats in areas of San Leandro and Oakland designated as "Mutual Response Areas" [MRA's]) . (1125) Introduced by Council Member Myers, who moved its adoption, seconded by Council Member Perry, and carried by the following called vote: AYES: Council Members Corbett, Faria, Kerr, Myers, Perry, Polvorosa; Mayor Karp ( 7 ) NOES: None ( 0 ) ABSENT: None ( 0 ) C. Resolution Authorizing the City Manager to Enter Into a Contract with Pacific Union Ventures for Development Services (authorizes the City Manager to sign a contract to provide for development services for the seismic retrofit of the Fire Stations, the Public Safety Building, and the Emergency Operations Center [EOC]) .
