An Ordinance Authorizing Amendment to the Contract Between the Board of
Administration of the California Public Employees' Retirement System
(PERS) and the City Council of the City of San Leandro (authorizes
amendment of the PERS contract to provide for two years' additional
service credit upon retirement) .
Removed from the Consent Calendar to New Business.
7. NEW BUSINESS
The City Council approved the Consent Calendar with Items C and M removed.
Items Removed from the Consent Calendar.
6.C. Resolution Approving Agreement for Operation and Maintenance Between City
of San Leandro and East Bay Dischargers Authority (increases scope of
services for the operation and routine maintenance of portions of EBDA's
joint use facilities by the City of San Leandro and the East Bay
Dischargers Authority) .
Council Member Myers asked if this Resolution had anything to do with the
items that were discussed at Work Session. Mike Oliver, City Manager, said
it did not. He said the East Bay Dischargers Authority maintains a large
pipeline that takes sewage from five agencies and eventually takes it out
into the Bay. He said the City found they can maintain the pipeline less
expensively and more efficiently than is currently being done, and this in
essence is a contract to do so.
