(1221) <br /> Introduced by Council Member Polvorosa, who moved its adoption, seconded by <br /> Council Member Myers, and carried by the following called vote: <br /> AYES: Council Members Corbett, Faria, Kerr, Myers, Perry, Polvorosa; <br /> Mayor Karp ( 7 ) <br /> NOES: None ( 0 ) <br /> ABSENT: None ( 0 ) <br /> 6.M. An Ordinance Authorizing Amendment to the Contract Between the Board of <br /> Administration of the California Public Employees' Retirement System (PERS) <br /> and the City Council of the City of San Leandro (authorizes amendment of <br /> the PERS contract to provide for two years' additional service credit upon <br /> retirement) . <br /> Council Member Kerr noted there is no sunset clause in the Resolution <br /> indicating when this would end. Mr. Oliver said that was correct. He said <br /> there is a six-month window of opportunity for this year. <br /> Council Member Kerr asked if that was in the Ordinance. Glenn Tarver, <br /> Personnel Director, said the City will be submitting the proper paperwork <br /> to PERS, and the paperwork will include a sunset clause of December 31, <br /> 1993. Council Member Kerr said he would recommend approval of the <br /> Ordinance, with the understanding the sunset clause would be submitted to <br /> PERS. <br /> The following Ordinance was then introduced: <br /> Ordinance No. 93-07, An Ordinance Authorizing Amendment to the Contract <br /> Between the Board of Administration of the California Public Employees' <br /> Retirement System (PERS) and the City Council of the City of San Leandro <br /> (authorizes amendment of the PERS contract to provide for two years' <br /> additional service credit upon retirement) .
