Minutes - San Leandro City Council Meeting - August 2, 1993 Page - 9 - <br /> NEW BUSINESS (continued) <br /> Jermanis said, in July 1993, the District reduced its rate to $9.95. <br /> He said the City did not make an adjustment at that time but left the <br /> City's rate at $10.40 in 1993-94 because it was anticipated Oro Loma <br /> would raise its rate. He said, instead, by going to a smaller can and <br /> providing recycling, they have kept the rate the same. He said $8.20 <br /> of the rate will be billed by Oakland Scavenger Company, and the <br /> remaining $1 .75 will be on the tax bills for all residential users. <br /> Council Member Perry asked if there would be duplicate franchise fees. <br /> Mr. Meyers said there would not be a change at this point. He said the <br /> Ordinance has no effect on the City of San Leandro or Oro Loma Sanitary <br /> District's rates. He said, in the course of negotiations, there may be <br /> some issue raised regarding rates, the franchise fees, etc. <br /> Council Member Nahm said he understands all this Ordinance did was <br /> enable the City to enter into negotiations. Mr. Meyers said that was <br /> correct. <br /> The following Ordinance was then introduced: <br /> Ordinance No. 93-014, An Ordinance Amending Title III, Chapters 6 and <br /> Chapter 7 of the San Leandro Municipal Code Related to Garbage <br /> Collection Within the Corporate Limits of the City of San Leandro (The <br /> proposed Ordinance would make the existing garbage collection <br /> provisions of the San Leandro Municipal Code applicable to all areas <br /> within the City limits. One effect of the proposed Ordinance would be <br /> to delete an existing exclusion from compliance with Municipal Code <br /> provisions relating to garbage collection that applies to areas within <br /> the City limits, but that are currently served by the Oro Loma Sanitary <br /> District) . Motion Regarding City Council Appointment of Ad Hoc Advisory Committee <br /> to Study the Implementation of the Proposed Marina Park User Fee. <br /> Continued from the July 19, 1993, City Council Meeting. <br /> Mayor Faria said the Committee would be charged to implement the <br /> $600,000 potential revenue, as provided in the approved budget, and <br /> this charge should be in writing for the Committee. He said the <br /> Committee should report to the Recreation and Parks Commission, which <br /> would report back to the City Council , and they would look at all <br /> suggested items. <br />
