MINUTES <br /> SAN LEANDRO CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br /> AUGUST 16, 1993 . <br /> The City Council of the City of San Leandro met in Regular Session in the City <br /> Council Chambers of the City Hall on the above date at 8:00 p.m. , Mayor Faria <br /> presiding. <br /> 1. CALL TO ORDER <br /> 2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG <br /> 3. ROLL CALL <br /> PRESENT: Council Members Corbett, Kerr, Myers, Nahm, Perry, Polvorosa; <br /> Mayor Faria <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> 4. PRESENTATIONS <br /> None <br /> 5. PUBLIC COMMENTS Public Comments are limited to 3 minutes per person. <br /> A. Scott A. Grubbs, 13475 Bancroft Avenue, Apt. 302, announced he would be <br /> running for the elected position of Mayor in the 1994 campaign. He <br /> said the time has come to put actions into motion. <br /> B. Lou Filipovich, 15376 Laverne Drive, spoke regarding New Business, Item <br /> G. He recommended that the Council give serious consideration to <br /> postponing the decision to name the Fairway/ Aladdin Overcrossing in <br /> honor of former Mayor Dave Karp and wait a year or six months. He <br /> said, if private industry wants to do something, that is fine. <br /> He also stated he had problems with the Minutes. And, regarding <br /> Ordinance No. 93-014, Chapters 6 and 7, referring to garbage <br /> collection, he thought Howard Kerr should resign and the others should <br /> abstain from voting on this Ordinance. <br /> C. Larry Norry, 2532 Williams Street, stated he has not received his copy <br /> of a letter from Mayor Faria answering questions from the Public <br /> Hearing regarding Jerome Porter and Bill Carash. <br /> Council Member Myers advised that he has copies of the letters and will <br /> forward them to Mr. Norry. <br /> Regarding New Business, Item G, Mr. Norry asked the Council to wait <br /> another six months before renaming the City to the City of Karp. <br />
