Minutes - San Leandro City Council Meeting - October 25, 1993 Page - 12 - <br /> CITY COUNCIL COMMENTS (continued) <br /> City Manager Mike Oliver said there is a point of dispute regarding <br /> this matter. He said the official policy of the City of San Leandro is <br /> that it is the case that these funds are being used to subsidize <br /> recycling and that is why this statement was published in the <br /> newsletter. <br /> H. Council Member Polvorosa commended staff for the quick removal of <br /> graffiti . <br /> I . Council Member Perry said, as voting Delegate at League of California <br /> Cities, she wished to report that 42 resolutions had been passed, and <br /> she will provide copies to the City Council . <br /> J. Council Member Perry discussed Breast Cancer Awareness Month and said <br /> the number of deaths related to breast cancer has gone from 1 in 10 <br /> women 10 years ago to 1 in 4 today. She said it is important that <br /> everyone get involved in this matter. <br /> K. Council Member Perry said the ABAG General Assembly will meet on <br /> November 18th and will be looking at ways to restructure government. <br /> She said she will report back to the Council . She will also be <br /> involved in an inventory of sub-regional cooperation forums in the nine <br /> Bay Area counties and will be working on a report on this matter as <br /> well . <br /> L. Council Member Nahm said he read the Planning Commission Minutes on the <br /> Hearings related to Roberts' Landing and, had he attended the meeting, <br /> he would have voted with the majority of the Council on Roberts' <br /> Landing. <br /> M. Council Member Nahm said there is an overgrown area at the top of <br /> Estudillo Avenue and asked for a plan on what could be done to clean <br /> this area up. <br /> N. Mayor Faria said, last Friday he attended the San Leandro High School <br /> Pep Rally. He said it was gratifying to see the young people and what <br /> fine students they are. He said there are major changes in San Leandro <br /> High School , and the spirit has returned to the school , which is an <br /> asset to the community. <br />
