•
MINUTES
SAN LEANDRO CITY COUNCIL MEETING
DECEMBER 6, 1993
The City Council of the City of San Leandro met in Regular Session in the City
Council Chambers of the City Hall on the above date at 8:00 p.m. , Mayor Faria
presiding.
1. CALL TO ORDER
2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG
3. ROLL CALL
PRESENT: Council Members Corbett, Myers, Nahm, Perry, Polvorosa;
Mayor Faria
ABSENT: Council Member Kerr
4. PRESENTATIONS
None
5. PUBLIC COMMENTS Public Comments are limited to 3 minutes per person.
A. Lavern Anderson, 1495 159th Avenue, invited the City Council to the
Bonaire Pot Luck Dinner on December 10th at 6:30 p.m.
B. James Driver, 16273 Galway Court, Ashland Area, requested that three
items be added to the Agency Agenda. He asked that public input be
taken at the Agency meeting. Mr. Driver said speaking on Agency
matters at the beginning of the Council meeting dilutes the public
input. He also asked that they act on a complaint of damages and
breach of contract between himself and the Agency. Mayor Faria noted
no action could be taken on matters not on the Agenda. He noted that
the public has the opportunity to address the Council regarding Agency
matters at the beginning of the Council meeting. The City Council
pointed out that public input on Agency matters was moved to the
beginning of the Council meeting so that the public could make comments
and not have to wait until 11 :00 or 12:00. The City Council concurred
that Public Comments could be added to the beginning of the Agency
Agenda as well , with the same time limits as for Public Comments at the
Council meeting. City Attorney Steve Meyers said any breach of
contract complaint must be processed through his office.
C. Lou Filipovich, 15376 Laverne Drive, asked why the Brown Act was not
discussed at the Work Session. Steve Meyers said there wasn't enough
time. Mr. Filipovich said people should have the opportunity to speak
on it. Mr. Filipovich said he obtained a legal opinion on the Roberts'
Landing Initiative. He asked if the Initiative applies solely to
Roberts' Landing. Mr. Meyers said this was correct; there is no other
property to which it applies.
