Minutes - San Leandro City Council Meeting - December 6, 1993 Page - 19 - <br /> PUBLIC HEARINGS (continued) <br /> Council Member Corbett asked how her no vote on the Neptune Drive <br /> property would be reflected; the City Attorney said, since the majority <br /> of the Council voted in favor of this matter, the vote would be shown <br /> as a yes vote on all the changes suggested. <br /> Ordinance No. 93-026, An Ordinance Approving Amendments to the City of <br /> San Leandro Zoning Code. (1024) <br /> Introduced by Council Member Nahm, who moved that it be passed to <br /> print, seconded by Council Member Perry, and carried by the following <br /> called vote: <br /> AYES: Council Members Corbett, Myers, Nahm, Perry, Polvorosa; <br /> Mayor Faria ( 6 ) <br /> NOES: None ( 0 ) <br /> ABSENT: Council Member Kerr ( 1 ) <br /> 9. CITY COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> A. Council Member Myers said everyone who worked on the Zoning Code did a <br /> tremendous job. He said Al Rosenga was instrumental in the process. <br /> He expressed his thanks to everyone. <br /> B. Council Member Corbett also thanked everyone who had worked on this <br /> project. <br /> C. Council Member Polvorosa thanked Barbara Tierney, President of the <br /> Floresta Homeowners' Association, for working with Lincoln Chu at Cal - <br /> Trans and getting a commitment from Cal -Trans to construct a fence <br /> • <br /> along the Floresta Overcrossing. He said Cal -Trans also plans to start <br /> a clean-up project on their dump site on the east side of the <br /> Washington Overcrossing. <br /> D. Council Member Perry said, at the ABAG General Assembly, she gave <br /> information to the Legislative Analyst regarding how the sales tax <br /> shift would affect cities in California. Council Member Perry told Ms. <br /> Hill she should look at all revenue sources. She discussed Ms. Hill 's <br /> suggestion that cities take responsibility for health and welfare and <br /> social services. Council Member Perry said she brought up the need for <br /> expertise in these areas and said cities are cutting staff and working <br /> toward collaborative projects. She said the State should not shatter <br /> such cooperation. She said a resolution was passed to look at all <br /> proposals to restructure, not just Ms. Hill 's. <br /> E. Council Member Perry said she was asked to sit in as the Council <br /> Liaison to the Friends of the San Leandro Creek Committee. She said a <br /> number of elementary school teachers came to the meeting and they are <br /> interested in the project. <br />
