Minutes - San Leandro City Council Meeting - December 6, 1993 Page - 3 -
PUBLIC COMMENTS (continued)
In response to Council questions, Steve Meyers said DTSC is the agency
responsible for approving all issues relative to toxics. All DISC
Conditions will be ultimately incorporated into the Plan.
G. Kateri Harrison, 430-1/2 Breed Avenue, said they are concerned about
waiting until building permits are issued until the toxic tests are
done. She said there is no public review at the time building permits
are issued. She said the toxic studies the Building Inspector will
rely on will not be available for public review. Mayor Faria said DISC
makes that decision. Ms. Harrison said the PEA criteria was
reinterpreted by Planning staff instead of being rewritten.
H. Dana Johnson, 343 Farrelly Drive, said the DISC letter did not compare
the site to Sandpiper. He said this is not Cherynoble or Three Mile
Island. He said the letter just stated the testing is insufficient.
6. CONSENT CALENDAR
A. The Minutes of the meeting of November 15, 1993, were approved as
submitted.
B.
