Council Member Kerr, seconded by <br /> Council Member Myers, moved to approve the Ballot Measure Argument. <br /> Council Member Perry, seconded by Council Member Nahm, and carried <br /> unanimously, moved to amend the Measure to change the wording: <br /> " . . .will temporarily conduct. . . . " to read: " . . .may conduct. . . . " <br /> The following Motion was then introduced: <br /> Minute Order No. 94-3. Matter of City Council Ballot Arguments Related <br /> to 1994 Election Measures. (1055) <br /> On motion by Council Member Kerr, who moved its approval , seconded by <br /> Council Member Myers, and carried by the following called vote, the <br /> City Council approved the Ballot Argument for Measure C, amending the <br /> words: " . . .will temporarily conduct. . . " to read: " . . .may conduct. . . . " <br /> AYES: Council Members Corbett, Kerr, Myers, Nahm, Perry, Polvorosa; <br /> Mayor Faria ( 7 ) <br /> NOES: None ( 0 ) <br /> ABSENT: None ( 0 ) <br /> Council Member Myers, seconded by Council Member Nahm, moved to approve <br /> the Ballot Measure Argument, with Mayor Faria signing on behalf of the <br /> City Council . <br /> The City Council discussed the Ballot Argument and suggested that the <br /> Wicks/Merced intersection be added to the section on traffic <br /> improvements. The City Council concurred with this change. <br /> Council Member Perry requested that the sentence: "We cannot allow <br /> out-of-town, special -interest groups. . . . " be omitted from the Argument. <br /> There was a Motion by Council Member Perry, seconded by Council Member <br /> Corbett, to delete this sentence. The Motion failed, with Council <br /> Members Perry and Corbett voting "Yes, " and the remainder of the City <br /> Council voting "No. " <br /> Council Member Kerr suggested the Motion be amended to have the Mayor <br /> and two or more additional Council Members sign the Argument, as well <br /> as someone from the public. Council Member Kerr withdrew the Motion <br /> because he felt the whole City Council should be represented. <br />
