(Drop <br /> Everything and Read Program) would be held on Tuesday and said she <br /> would be one of the guest readers. <br /> D. Council Member Corbett said she, the City Manager, and the Economic <br /> Development Coordinator made a presentation to EDAB to form a Task <br /> Force to help in the study to share information about the San Leandro <br /> Plume, and the Executive Board approved the study. <br /> E. Council Member Kerr said Cleanup Day in Washington Manor, Ashland, <br /> Cherryland, etc. , would be on April 23rd. He spoke regarding a fund <br /> raiser that was conducted by the Alameda County Fire Department. He <br /> said the Washington Manor area looks good, although it was hit with <br /> graffiti recently. <br /> F. Council Member Polvorosa requested that the meeting be adjourned in <br /> memory of Mickey Suchman, wife of Ed Suchman, who died recently. <br /> G. Council Member Polvorosa said staff should be commended for the <br /> excellent job in skinning the fields at Washington Manor Park to enable <br /> the Bobby Sox teams to play. <br /> H. Council Member Polvorosa said he recently saw Cal trans at the East 14th <br /> St. bridge, but no work has been done. Kathy Ornelas said Caltrans is <br /> determining how to raise the portion of the bridge that is down in the <br /> creek so they can make a mold of it and rebuild it. <br /> I . Council Member Nahm also commended staff for the fine work on the <br /> Washington Manor Park fields. <br /> J. Council Member Nahm spoke regarding the UPEC organization. He said <br /> they do a fine job of involving their youth in a number of activities, <br /> from very young children through teenagers, and giving them a sense of <br /> tradition and life experiences. <br /> K. Council Member Perry said Portuguese Immigrant Week, which was held <br /> last week, is a good event and provides respect for history and <br /> tradition. She said this was her third year on the Steering Committee. <br /> L. Council Member Perry said the City Council team is ready and looking <br /> forward to being a Trivia Bee Team at the Community Library on Friday. <br /> M. Council Member Kerr said the Dayton Ballfield is in use, and the <br /> Washington Manor Jr. League is happy with the field. <br /> N. Mayor Faria noted that Bay-O-Vista now has 14 new Neighborhood Watch <br /> groups and hopes this continues. <br /> 0. Mayor Faria noted he will also be participating on a Trivia Bee Team. <br />
