Minutes - San Leandro City Council Meeting - April 18, 1994 Page - 6 - <br /> 9. CITY COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> A. Council Member Myers congratulated Mayor-Elect Corbett and Council <br /> Members-Elect Galvan and Loeffler. He stated he has learned a lot from <br /> the Council and thanked them for their support over the last two years. <br /> He said he looks forward to their continued support. <br /> B. Mayor-Elect Corbett thanked the City Council for the past four years. <br /> She said she has a lot of respect for the Council and has enjoyed <br /> working with them. She encouraged out-going Mayor Faria and Council <br /> Member Nahm to continue to stay involved in the community. <br /> C. Council Member Kerr stated it has been a pleasure working with Mayor <br /> Faria and Council Member Nahm. He wished them good luck in their <br /> future endeavors. <br /> D. Council Member Kerr paid tribute to Rubin Garcia, who recently passed <br /> away, for his contributions to the City and described the Memorial <br /> Service at Siempre Verde Park. <br /> E. Council Member Kerr asked staff to followup on the problem at Dayton <br /> School regarding baseballs going into neighboring property. He <br /> suggested the City might put up some type of temporary nets. Mike <br /> Oliver, City Manager, indicated Dave Bohne is working on this issue. <br /> F. Council Member Polvorosa stated that it has been very good working with <br /> Mayor Faria and Council Member Nahm. He congratulated newly elected <br /> Mayor Corbett and new Council Members Galvan and Loeffler. He also <br /> paid tribute to Rubin Garcia and talked about some of the contributions <br /> he made to the City. <br /> G. Council Member Polvorosa noted the Alta Mira Club held its Aebelskiver <br /> Breakfast, and it was well attended. <br /> H. Council Member Perry reported on the ABAG General Assembly and East Bay <br /> Division's studies on restructuring government. <br /> I . Council Member Perry thanked Mayor Faria for taking her under his wing <br /> when she first came on board. She also thanked the Mayor's family, <br /> especially Gail , for their support. She thanked Council Member Nahm <br /> and stated that he more than exceeded her expectations as a fellow <br /> Council Member. <br /> J. Council Member Nahm thanked his wife, Trina, for all of her support <br /> while he has been a Council Member. He said he is very proud to have <br /> been a part of the City Council . He stated that Mike Oliver is an <br /> outstanding City Manager. He thanked the entire staff and said the <br /> City is in great shape, has a bold new blueprint, and has many <br /> challenges before it. He thanked the City Council for its support and <br /> expressed his appreciation for the opportunity to serve the community. <br />
