Council Member Loeffler commended Council Member Kerr for his work and <br /> knowledge related to the Congestion Management Agency. <br /> G. Council Member Loeffler requested a status report on the Cultural <br /> Diversity Program. The City Manager explained a consultant has been <br /> used to develop the program, some initial workshops have been <br /> presented, and the program is being revamped to make it more relevant. <br /> He said the goal is to have the organization go through the program and <br /> then take it into the community. Artie Fields described the activities <br /> and progress of the steering committee. <br /> H. Council Member Loeffler asked if the City responds to letters, such as <br /> the one received from Mr. Sherrell . Mr. Oliver said it is City policy <br /> to respond to letters, as well as responding to "Letters to the Editor" <br /> in newspapers. <br /> I . Council Member Myers noted May 24th would be San Leandro Kiwanis Club <br /> Police Appreciation Day at the Library at 12:00 noon, with the proceeds <br /> going to DARE. <br /> J. Mayor Corbett noted that, on Saturday afternoon, the mail carriers in <br /> San Leandro brought back food they had collected from throughout the <br /> entire community. She said they brought in tons of food, and there <br /> were many volunteers helping sort the food. <br /> K. Mayor Corbett noted she attended the Alta Mira Club installation and <br /> congratulated Sue Woods, the new President, and wished her much <br /> success. <br /> 10. ADJOURN <br /> The City Council adjourned its meeting at 10:57 p.m. , to be reconvened to <br /> a Closed Session following the San Leandro Public Financing Authority and <br /> San Leandro Redevelopment Agency meetings. <br /> The City Council reconvened its meeting in the City Council Conference Room <br /> at approximately 11 :01 p.m. <br /> The City Council adjourned to Closed Session to discuss the matter of <br /> Litigation, Sierra Club vs. City of San Leandro. <br />
