Minutes - San Leandro City Council Meeting - October 3, 1994 Page - 5 - PUBLIC COMMENTS (continued) G. Darlene Evans, 361 Bristol Boulevard, said she was robbed on Thursday night. She said she spoke to the gas station manager and the manager of Durant Square and asked about their facilities. She said she sees problems with the jurisdiction between San Leandro and Oakland. She said there are only eight police cars patrolling San Leandro at night and there are no fence laws, and in some places there are no fences between San Leandro and Oakland properties. She said fence laws are needed for the safety of citizens. She said she went to the Police Department to get information on gang activities and did not get any information but noticed two days later there were brochures related to gang activity in the Police Department lobby. She noted Toast Masters teaches public speaking. Mayor Corbett noted that Wednesday evening there would be a meeting in the Durant area to establish a new Neighborhood Watch Program. H. Marlene Lenz, 14983 Norton Street, thanked the City Council for the recycling bins, said she has been recycling voluntarily, and has her office recycling. She said she thinks this is a good program which is needed and the cost is not outrageous. 6. CONSENT CALENDAR Consent Calendar items are typically routine in nature and are considered for approval by the City Council with one single action. The City Council may remove items from the Consent Calendar for purposes of discussion. The Consent Calendar was approved as follows: Introduced by Council Member Perry, who moved adoption of the Consent Calendar, seconded by Council Member Galvan, and carried by a majority vote (7) .
