PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG <br /> 3. ROLL CALL <br /> PRESENT: Council Members Galvan, Kerr, Loeffler, Myers, Perry, Polvorosa; <br /> Mayor Corbett <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> 4. PRESENTATIONS <br /> A. Proclamation Honoring World War II Veterans' Memorial Week and <br /> Designating the Week of November 6-12, 1994, as "World War II Veterans' <br /> Commemorative Week. " <br /> Mayor Corbett presented the Proclamation to Frank Sanchez, Veterans' of <br /> Foreign Wars, Post 819. <br /> B. Mayor Corbett asked if the City Council had any interest in reviewing <br /> Measure D or receiving information on how it could be placed on the <br /> Agenda. The City Council said they did not wish to pursue this matter. <br /> 5. PUBLIC COMMENTS <br /> Public Comments are limited to 5 minutes per person. The public is invited <br /> to make any comments related to Agenda items (including San Leandro <br /> Redevelopment Agency, San Leandro Parking Authority, and San Leandro <br /> Industrial Development Authority) or other items of public interest at this <br /> time. Comments regarding Public Hearing items will be heard during the <br /> Public Hearing portion of the Agenda. <br /> A. Mark Johnson, 454 Nabor Street, spoke in support of Measure D. He <br /> described the benefits to the community that will be derived from <br /> improvements to the schools and asked the City Council to endorse the <br /> Measure. <br /> B. Karen Short, 13828 Wake Avenue, spoke in favor of Measure D. She said <br /> the goals of Measure D are in alignment with the City Council Members' <br /> goals. She said improving the schools is an integral part of the City. <br /> She described some of the improvements that need to be made and <br /> discussed playground equipment which must be replaced by the year 2000. <br /> She said the Measure is congruent with the goals for the City of San <br /> Leandro and cannot be separated. <br />
