Minutes - San Leandro City Council Meeting - March 2, 1992 Page - 5 -
CONSENT CALENDAR (continued)
F. ORDINANCE NO. 92-03 (1063)
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING
TITLE IV, CHAPTER 13, ARTICLE 1 OF THE
SAN LEANDRO MUNICIPAL CODE
RELATING TO UNCLAIMED PROPERTY
Introduced by Council Member Santos, who moved its adoption, seconded by Council
Member Glaze, and carried by the following called vote:
AYES: Council Members Corbett, Faria, Glaze, Perry, Polvorosa, Santos;
Mayor Karp ( 7 )
NOES: None ( 0 )
ABSENT: None ( 0 )
7. NEW BUSINESS
A. The minutes of the meeting of February 18, 1992 were removed from the
Consent Calendar to New Business and approved as amended.
Council Member Perry spoke regarding the matter of rescission of
Assessment District Resolutions at the February 18, 1992, Meeting. She
said it was her intent that the three Resolutions and the Ordinance be
rescinded, but because of parliamentary procedures, this was not
reflected in the Minutes. She requested that a letter clarifying her
position be made a part of the Minutes. The Minutes were approved with
the letter appended thereto.
B. Resolution Approving Contractual Services Agreement with MCE
Corporation/Aztec Consultants for Engineering Services Related to the
1992-94 CIP Program.
Council Member Faria asked why the City was proceeding with this
contract when CIP Projects were being deferred. He asked if staff
would not have more time to do this work if the CIP Projects were being
deferred.
Mike Oliver, Acting City Manager, said this contract would only be used
on an as-needed-basis, and funds would only be expended for those
projects that are moved forward. He said the consultant would perform
a check on the estimates that are performed in-house and this is
standard in the industry. He said staff is trying to put together
better estimates on projects so additional funding is not required at
a later date.
Council Member Faria said he did not feel this is a service that is
needed at this time and said he felt the engineer's estimates he had
seen had been adequate.
