Council Member Faria requested that staff look at traffic problems at <br /> the Beatrice/Washington intersection. He said traffic is backed up at <br /> the signal every single night, seven days a week. He said he realizes <br /> the State will be doing work at the site in the summer, but something <br /> needs to be done immediately. <br /> C. Mike Oliver noted two City events which would be held this weekend. He <br /> said on Saturday the East 14th Street and MacArthur Boulevard entry <br /> features would be dedicated, and there would also be a Flag Day <br /> Ceremony on Saturday. He said the City's Shoreline Run would be held <br /> on Sunday. <br /> D. Mayor Karp said he had attended the celebration at our Lady of Good <br /> Counsel Church for Father Autard's 50th Anniversary as a priest. <br /> E. Mayor Karp spoke regarding the Bergensen Bill 797 on Regional <br /> Government. He said the State Legislature and Congress continue to <br /> produce laws that cost cities money, and it would be nice if they would <br /> find ways of saving money for the cities instead. <br /> 10.
