Minutes - San Leandro City Council Meeting - August 17, 1992 Page - 17 -
PUBLIC HEARINGS (continued)
Al Rosenga, 534 Parrott Street, asked what type of ownership the
properties would have and whether they would be condominium or single-
family homes.
Robert Storer, the Applicant, 2656 Nicholson, said he agreed with all
of the Planning Commission recommendations. He said this is the kind
of housing San Leandro needs; it is up-scale and has a number of
amenities at an affordable price. He said the units are 3-bedroom, 2-
1/2 baths, with many upgrades, including family rooms, fireplaces, and
a master bedroom and living room, tile roofs, etc.
Mayor Karp noted the project looked similar to the Magnolia Lane
project. Mr. Storer said it is very similar but has a more down-home,
small -town feel . Mr. Storer showed slides of other projects he has
built and further discussed landscaping, the common driveway, and guest
parking.
There being no further comments from the public, on motion of Council
Member Polvorosa, seconded by Council Member Kerr, and carried
unanimously, the Public Hearing was closed.
The following Motion was then introduced:
Minute Order No. 92-64. On motion by Council Member Kerr, who moved
its approval , seconded by Council Member Faria, and carried by the
following called vote, the City Council approved PD-92-04. (1009)
AYES: Council Members Faria, Kerr, Perry, Polvorosa;
Mayor Karp ( 5 )
NOES: None ( 0 )
ABSENT: Council Members Corbett and Myers ( 2 )
C. Matter of Community Preservation Enforcement Charges.
This being the time and place for the Public Hearing on the above
matter, Joann Scilley, Community Standards Coordinator, said the
purpose of the Hearing was for City Council consideration of Community
Standards Enforcement Charges, as discussed at a previous City Council
Work Session. She said the Resolution would authorize the City to
charge industrial and commercial violators for the cost of enforcing
the regulations. She said the proposal was to charge industrial and
commercial property owners for enforcement, but residential property
owners would still be charged only for abatement of conditions. She
said the fee schedule is similar to that used by the Water Pollution
Control Plant, Building Division, and Fire Departments.
The Hearing was then opened to the public.
