Council Member Perry said she had taken copies of the City's newsletters and Bulletin to a recent meeting involved with the League of California Cities, and they were quite impressed with the materials and will use them in seminars. She commended staff for these documents. H. Council Member Perry said the Partnership for Youth Safety Committee would meet on October 27, at 7:00 p.m. , and encouraged people to attend. She said the Committee will be following up on the Gang Prevention Program. She said there is still an opening on the Committee. She said the Committee also will be working on safe havens for children. I . Council Member Corbett said her Town Hall Meeting would be held on October 28, 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. , at the Washington Elementary School on Dutton Avenue. J. Vice Mayor Faria said staff had written a memo regarding the Flintkote Building and efforts to remove weeds, but he said he is still concerned regarding the whole building. He asked that staff report on the Superfund status of the site. He said he would like to see the broken windows repaired and the possibility of tearing the buildings down. Mr. Oliver said staff is currently working through the Community Preservation Ordinance on one commercial site at a time but will look into who owns this building and how it stands in the Superfund. 10. ADJOURN The City Council adjourned at 8:50 p.m. to Monday, October 26, 1992, at 6: 15 p.m. for a Work Session at 6: 15 p.m. , in the South Offices Conference Room, Regarding (1) Seismic Retrofit Tour, (2) Public Advisory Task Force on City Finances, and (3) Finance Department Activities Update.
