MINUTES <br /> SAN LEANDRO CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br /> NOVEMBER 9, 1992 <br /> The City Council of the City of San Leandro met in Adjourned Session in the City <br /> Council Chamber of the City Hall on the above date at 7:00 p.m. , Mayor Karp <br /> presiding. <br /> 1. CALL TO ORDER <br /> 2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG <br /> 3. ROLL CALL <br /> PRESENT: Council Members Corbett, Faria, Kerr, Myers, Perry, Polvorosa; <br /> Mayor Karp <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> 4. PRESENTATIONS <br /> None <br /> 5. PUBLIC COMMENTS <br /> A. Rick Richards, said the Alzheimer's Memory Walk had earned $48,000. He <br /> said his wife, Pam, has been asked by the Palo Alto Chapter to go to <br /> Sacramento and to Washington, D.C. , to lobby for funds. <br /> B. Mayor Karp, discussed the Veteran's Day activities scheduled in San <br /> Leandro, including a pre-parade reception on November 10th at 6:30 <br /> p.m. , at the Veteran's Memorial Building. He said on November 11th <br /> there would be coffee and pastries at the Memorial Building from 8:00 <br /> to 10:00 a.m. , a flag-raising ceremony at City Hall at 8:30 a.m. , a <br /> motorcade assembly at the building at 9:45 a.m. , an assembly at the <br /> reviewing stand at 10: 15 a.m. , and the 82nd Airborne Division ceremony <br /> at Siempre Verde Park at 2:00 p.m. <br /> C. Lou Filipovich, 15376 Laverne Drive, made a motion that the list of <br /> nominees to the Public Advisory Task Force on City Finances be set <br /> aside and made null . He requested that the City Council hire an <br /> independent person to investigate why there was not an original list <br /> and why names were left off the list. He said he wanted to know how <br /> appointments to the Core Group were made and what process was used to <br /> select them. <br /> Mr. Filipovich said it is difficult for him and others to participate <br /> in Public Hearings. He said he is forced to come to following City <br /> Council meetings to raise issues because he is not permitted to speak. <br />
