Council Member Polvorosa complimented Kathy Ornelas and the Public <br /> Works staff for the Tree Lighting Ceremony and said it was the best one <br /> yet. <br /> J. Council Member Perry said many of the historic events in the City took <br /> place at Mario's shoe shop. <br /> K. Council Member Perry . said more than 300 people attended the Gang <br /> Awareness Program. She thanked Nancy Hillis, Ian Willis, and Autrey <br /> James for their work. She said the session was videotaped and might be <br /> made available to homeowners' associations and to the Government Access <br /> Channel . <br /> L. Council Member Perry said Miss Penny was at Bayfair this weekend and <br /> will be there again on the 19th. She said Bayfair gave nutcrackers to <br /> the children as gifts. She said people are encouraged to give the <br /> Library a gift by buying and donating a book. <br /> M. Council Member Perry said the matter of Cable TV is under discussion by <br /> the Telecommunications Committee at the National League. <br /> N. Council Member Faria •said Mario Polvorosa has always been very generous <br /> and helpful to others and is a great guy. He said he will still be out <br /> and it is .important to keep him active and keep his spirits up. <br /> 0. City Manager Mike Oliver noted this week's Budget Bulletin. He said <br /> the Employee Efficiency Task Force received 431 suggestions on ways for <br /> the City to save money. He said the goal is to save $125,000, and many <br /> of the suggestions are excellent. <br /> 10.
