ORDINANCE NO. 91-02 (1126) <br /> AN ORDINANCE RECLASSIFYING CERTAIN PROPERTY <br /> HEREIN DESCRIBED AS TO ZONING DISTRICT AND <br /> AMENDING ZONING MAP <br /> (A-90-8) <br /> 850 THORNTON STREET <br /> Introduced by Council Member Glaze, who moved that it be passed to print, <br /> seconded by Council Member Perry, and carried by the following called vote: <br /> AYES: Council Members Corbett, Faria, Glaze, Perry, Polvorosa, Santos; <br /> Mayor Karp ( 7 ) <br /> NOES: None ( 0 ) <br /> ABSENT: None ( 0 ) <br /> 6. NEW BUSINESS <br /> A. The minutes of the meeting of February 19, 1991, were approved as <br /> amended. <br /> B. Presentation of Commendation to Crew of Fire Station No. 1 for the First <br /> Life Saved in San Leandro Using the New Semi-Automatic Defibrillator. <br /> Fire Chief Cole and Battalion Chief Jim Johnston introduced the crew from <br /> Fire Station No. 1 . , Rick Salaices, Jim Martinez, and Richard Ferguson. <br /> Chief Johnston said that on February 17, 1991, at the Veterans' Memorial <br /> Building, a visitor suffered cardiac arrest. He said the crew used the <br /> semi-automatic defibrillator to restore the gentleman's heart beat. He <br /> said St. Rose Hospital , which oversees the defibrillator program, said <br /> this was the first viable save in San Leandro and that the gentleman <br /> would not have survived without use of the defibrillator. On behalf of <br /> the City Council the Mayor presented a commendation to the crew of Fire <br /> Station No. 1 . Mr. Salaices thanked the Council on behalf of all of the <br /> Fire Fighters. <br /> C. MINUTE ORDER NO. 91-16 (1051) <br /> MOTION APPROVING CITY COUNCIL FINANCE COMMITTEE'S <br /> RECOMMENDED 1990-91 AND 1991-92 <br /> CITY REFOCUS BUDGET PROGRAM <br /> On motion by Council Member Santos who moved its approval , seconded by Council <br /> Member Polvorosa and carried by the following called vote, the City Council <br /> approved the City Council Finance Committee's recommended 1990-91 and 1991-92 <br /> City Refocus Budget Program. <br /> AYES: Council Members Corbett, Faria, Glaze, Perry, Polvorosa, Santos; <br /> Mayor Karp ( 7 ) <br /> NOES: None ( 0 ) <br /> ABSENT: None ( 0 ) <br />
