Minutes - San Leandro City Council Meeting - November 4, 1991 Page - 8 - <br /> PUBLIC HEARINGS (continued) <br /> The Hearing was then opened to the public. <br /> The City Clerk noted a letter had been received from Mr. Ken Martin, <br /> 1460 Pacific Avenue, San Leandro, opposing the Variance. <br /> There being no further comments from the public, on motion of Council <br /> Member Glaze, seconded by Council Member Perry, and carried unanimously, <br /> the Public Hearing was closed. <br /> The following Motion was then introduced: <br /> MINUTE ORDER NO. 91-101 (1005) <br /> DENYING APPEAL BY ADERITO SANTOS VALES <br /> OF THE BOARD OF ZONING ADJUSTMENTS' <br /> DENIAL OF V-91-4 <br /> VARIANCE TO CONSTRUCT AN ADDITION TO <br /> EXISTING DUPLEX WHICH WOULD REDUCE THE REQUIRED <br /> REAR-YARD SETBACK FROM 15 FEET TO 5 FEET <br /> 1427 ORCHARD AVENUE <br /> R-2 (TWO-FAMILY RESIDENCE) DISTRICT <br /> On motion by Council Member Santos who moved its approval , seconded by Council <br /> Member Faria and carried by the following called vote, the City Council denied <br /> the Appeal and accepted the Board of Zoning Adjustments' Findings of Fact as the <br /> City Council 's Findings of Fact. <br /> AYES: Council Members Corbett, Faria, Glaze, Perry, Polvorosa, Santos; <br /> Mayor Karp ( 7 ) <br /> NOES: None ( 0 ) <br /> ABSENT: None ( 0 ) <br /> 9. CITY COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> A. Council Member Perry noted that a portion of 139th Avenue has been <br /> closed. She said it will continue to be closed for approximately nine <br /> weeks as part of the EPA order to clean up the contamination at the <br /> Century Plating Company. She also noted that several families in the <br /> area will be evacuated for a few days. She said any interested persons <br /> could call her or Acting Community Relations Representative Paul <br /> Zolfarelli for information. <br /> B. Council Member Perry discussed the ABAG Regional Governments' meeting <br /> on November 21 and said she will send the City Council the Agenda for <br /> the meeting. She said there had been eight Public Hearings around the <br /> Bay Region and 80%o of the cities are opposed to Bay Vision 20/20. She <br /> said, unless she hears otherwise, she will assume that is also the San <br /> Leandro City Council 's position and will vote in accordance with that <br /> position. <br />
