Council Member Faria noted that Council Members Suchman and Jardin have <br /> become good friends in the last eight years and have done a lot for the <br /> community. He said he intends to keep them both involved as they are an <br /> asset to the community. <br /> o. Mayor Karp said he would say his goodbyes tomorrow. <br /> p. Council Member Suchman thanked his colleagues for their comments. He noted <br /> that only 27% of the registered voters in San Leandro voted at the last local <br /> election and suggested that a measure be placed on the November ballot to <br /> change the City's election date. The Mayor suggested that a committee should <br /> study this matter. <br /> q. Bob Leigh, President of the Washington Homeowners' Association expressed his <br /> appreciation for the Easter Egg Hunt held at Washington Manor Park. He <br /> commended Dan Paiva of the Recreation Department and the staff and volunteers <br /> and said they did an outstanding job. He also commended Fire Engine Company <br /> No. 5 and Sparky; Police Department Reserve Member, Ron Clark, and the Police <br /> Cadets; and the San Leandro Optimist Club. He said that over 900 children <br /> had attended the Easter Egg Hunt. <br /> r.
