Council Member Santos indicated that the barrier at the foot of Billings Street was in disrepair and asked staff to see what could be done to repair it. k. Council Member Santos indicated that we are still having problems with abandoned shopping carts and asked that staff contact Safeway to ask if they have considered the installation of a shopping cart rack that would require the return of the shopping cart for a refund of a deposit. 1 . Council Member Corbett asked if there would be any additions to the Unreinforced Masonry Building Citizens Advisory Committee. Mayor Karp indicated affirmatively and asked that names be submitted. m. Council Member Glaze asked that staff look at the possibility of requiring that all homes be bolted down in connection with our Disaster Preparedness efforts and to check on a funding source for this. The City Manager indicated that the Disaster Preparedness program matter would be further discussed at the May 21 City Council Meeting. n. Council Member Glaze reported that campers and trailers are being parked and oil is being drained from cars on the WEBCO property and dumped into a sewer drain adjacent to the Marina Shopping Center. o. Council Member Polvorosa indicated that he enjoyed his first day on the City Council . p. Council Member Perry indicated she was pleased to see the Halcyon fence construction begin. q. Council Member Perry indicated that she had read about 800 essays from the recent Alameda County Committee on Status on Women Creative Writing contest for students in Grades 6 through 12 and was pleased to report two winners from Arroyo High School . r. Council Member Faria requested a status report on the Reynolds Building on East 14th Street. The meeting was adjourned at 10:43 p.m. to May 21, 1990.
