Matter of Community Development Block Grant Submission Statement, Program <br /> Year 1990. <br /> - Letter from Human Resources Commission Regarding Shelter Against Violent <br /> Environment. <br /> This being the time and place for the public hearing on the above matter, <br /> John Klein, Housing Coordinator, said this is the annual application to HUD <br /> for Block Grant funds. He said he is anticipating $600,000 this year, as <br /> well as $100,000 in loan repayments. He said some Redevelopment funds will <br /> also be used for housing and North Area needs. <br /> The Hearing was then opened to the public. <br /> There being no comments from the public, on motion of Council Member Faria, <br /> seconded by Council Member Glaze and carried unanimously, the Public Hearing <br /> was closed. <br /> The following Resolution was then introduced: <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 90-87 (2096) <br /> RESOLUTION APPROVING FINAL SUBMISSION STATEMENT AND LIST OF <br /> ADDITIONAL PROJECTS AND ACTIVITIES FOR FUNDS UNDER <br /> PROVISIONS OF THE HOUSING AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT ACT <br /> AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION AND SUBMISSION <br /> THEREOF BY THE CITY MANAGER <br /> Introduced by Council Member Glaze who moved its adoption, seconded by Council <br /> Member Perry and carried by the following called vote: <br /> AYES: Council Members Corbett, Faria, Glaze, Perry, Polvorosa, Santos; <br /> Mayor Karp ( 7 ) <br /> NOES: None ( 0 ) <br /> ABSENT: None ( 0 ) <br /> CORRESPONDENCE: <br /> a. Letter from Lynn Vahey, 1645 Daniels Drive, Requesting Opportunity to Speak <br /> in Opposition to Installation of a Gate at Chabot Park. Mayor Karp asked <br /> if Lynn Vahey was still in the audience. She was not present, but Council <br /> Member Corbett said Ms. Vahey had indicated to her that she would like to <br /> be able to enjoy the park and had suggested that the park hours more closely <br /> relate to sunrise and sunset. It was suggested that Ms. Vahey contact the <br /> Recreation and Parks Commission to discuss this matter. <br /> b. Letter from Joanne Dean, Chairman; San Leandro Preferential Parking Sticker <br /> Committee, Requesting Opportunity to Speak and Submit a Proposal for a Car <br /> Sticker System to be Implemented for Residents Living in Two-Hour Parking <br /> Zones. Mayor Karp inquired if Joanne Dean was still in the audience; she <br /> was not. <br />
