Minutes - San Leandro City Council Meeting - October 1, 1990 Page - 10 -
MISCELLANEOUS (continued)
h. Council Member Faria said that the resurfacing work done in Bay-O-Vista went
quite well and noted that he even saw the contractor sweeping driveways.
i . Mayor Karp noted a resolution before the League of California Cities
regarding uninsured motorists. He said the resolution proposes that all
vehicles must be insured in order to be registered and those that are not
can be impounded and sold. He said more than 25% of all California vehicles
are uninsured.
j . Howard Kerr, 15388 Norton Street, also commented on the traffic problems on
Wicks Boulevard during the resurfacing. He also asked if Wicks Boulevard
could be converted to two lanes in each direction and the bike lanes
eliminated now that Marina High School is no longer in operation. He said
that any such conversion, however, should take into consideration the impact
on Mission Bay.
The meeting was adjourned at 10:28 p.m. to October 15, 1990.
APPROVED:
DAVE KARP
Mayor of the City of San Leandro
Attest: da":6
Alice Calvert, City Clerk
a
F:\CLERK\MINUTES\100190
