He said standardization and high quality of fire <br /> equipment were not reasons to waive competitive bidding, but he did agree with <br /> the points related to the front end loading and the testing unit meeting State <br /> specifications. <br /> The following Resolution was then introduced: <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 90-235 (1172) <br /> WAIVING COMPETITIVE BIDDING <br /> FOR PURCHASE OF <br /> PUMPER FIRE ENGINE <br /> Introduced by Council Member Glaze who moved its adoption, seconded by Council <br /> Member Perry and carried by the following called vote: <br /> AYES: Council Members Corbett, Faria, Glaze, Perry, Polvorosa, Santos; <br /> Mayor Karp ( 7 ) <br /> NOES: None ( 0 ) <br /> ABSENT: None ( 0 ) <br />' RESOLUTION NO. 90-236 (2665) <br /> RESOLUTION OF AWARD OF CONTRACT TO <br /> ANGUS MCKAY CONSTRUCTION FOR <br /> SOUTH DIKE RESTROOM REPAIRS <br /> PROJECT NO. 90-6603 <br /> Introduced by Council -Member Santos who moved its adoption, seconded by Council <br /> Member Polvorosa and carried by the following called vote: <br /> AYES: Council Members Corbett, Faria, Glaze, Perry, Polvorosa, Santos; <br /> Mayor Karp ( 7 ) <br /> NOES: None ( 0 ) <br /> ABSENT: None ( 0 ) <br /> ORDINANCES <br /> Matter of An Ordinance Establishing the Compensation of the Mayor. <br /> Council Member Santos said there had been no preliminary discussion on this <br /> matter and made the motion, seconded by Council Member Glaze, that the ordinance <br /> be continued to the December 17, 1990 City Council meeting and that a City <br /> Council Committee consisting of Council Members Santos, Faria and Glaze look at <br /> • the Mayor's salary and develop a program to implement the salary now and into <br /> the foreseeable future. There was considerable discussion on this matter. <br /> Council Member Polvorosa said he felt the entire City Council should discuss this <br /> matter. Council Member Glaze noted that City Council policies on a variety of <br /> matters need to be developed. Council Member Perry said that the City Council <br /> should look not only at the Mayor's salary but at City Council and employee <br /> salaries, with an eye toward the future, and keeping in mind historical <br />
