Council Member Perry also asked <br /> whether angling the Springlake Drive driveway had been considered. Norm <br /> Weisbrod said the Traffic Engineer was concerned that vehicles could enter <br /> the parking lot at too great a speed on an angled driveway, resulting in <br /> accidents with vehicles exiting parking spaces. He also said the Traffic <br /> Engineer had suggested additional wording for the Conditions of Approval <br /> related to the review of the driveway: "This review would include <br /> consideration of accidents, safety, operations or other problems related to <br /> the proposed driveway. " <br /> • Lorraine Hunt, 15607 Dermody Avenue, San Lorenzo, said these types of <br /> buildings or shops are not needed and requested that the City Council <br /> consider grassy areas in lieu of any development on this property. She also <br /> expressed her concern about traffic. <br /> There being no further comments from the public, on motion of Council Member <br /> Faria, seconded by Council Member Santos and carried unanimously, the Public <br /> Hearing was closed. • <br /> On motion of Council Member Perry, seconded by Council Member Santos, with <br /> Council Member Glaze voting no, the matter was continued to the City Council <br /> meeting of December 17, 1990, and staff was directed to work with the <br /> applicant regarding the matter of an angled driveway and to specify the <br /> criteria to be utilized to review the driveway. The applicant said this <br /> continuation was acceptable to him. The City Council also requested that <br /> the Traffic Engineer attend the December 17 meeting. <br /> MISCELLANEOUS <br /> a. Matter of Nomination of Member to Human Resources Commission (District 2) - <br /> Nomination Pending. Council Member Perry indicated the nomination is still <br /> pending. <br /> b. Council Member Santos said the barricades at the City property on Davis <br /> Street, northeast of Dabner Street, were not keeping trespassers out and <br /> asked if the property could be fenced. <br /> c. Council Member Santos said the City of Alameda has developed a strong <br />• resolution opposing the Oakland Airport expansion program, and he would like <br /> a similar resolution prepared for San Leandro. He said Mulford Gardens and <br /> Marina Faire residents in the airport flight path would join him in taking <br /> a strong stand against airport expansion. <br /> d. Council Member Perry thanked everyone who had sent flowers and get well cards <br /> to her during her recent illness. <br />• <br /> e. Council Member Faria indicated he and Council Member Corbett attended a Waste <br /> Management Authority conference and noted the amount of work conducted at <br /> the conference. He discussed informative home yard-composting literature <br /> that was available from the Authority. <br />
