THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO HEREBY <br />REQUESTS PROPOSALS FOR <br />State Legislative Advocacy Services <br />Community Overview <br />The City of San Leandro takes pride in its reputation of being an energetic and <br />well-managed city. It is a city that is sensitive to the needs of its residents and <br />responsive to their input in all matters of civic affairs. A full service city, San <br />Leandro has been governed for nearly a century under the Mayor -Council - <br />Manager form of government. Located in the center of the San Francisco Bay <br />Area, San Leandro enjoys close proximity to Silicon Valley, San Francisco, <br />world-renowned universities, the Oakland International Airport and the Port of <br />Oakland, and is served by two major freeways and two BART stations. The City <br />is noted for its shoreline area, fine schools and affordable housing. It is ideally <br />located for those who enjoy a wide range of cultural and recreational activities. <br />The City is approximately fifteen square miles in area and has a population of <br />approximately 85,000 residents. <br />Mission Statement: We, the employees of the City of San Leandro, are <br />dedicated and committed to serving the community. Introduction <br />The City of San Leandro is requesting proposals to establish a contract for State <br />Legislative Advocacy Services with work to commence on or about January 22, <br />2014 and be completed December 31, 2014 with the option for an annual <br />renewal of such contract on a calendar -year basis. <br />Responses must be submitted as detailed below, no later than the date and time <br />stated in the RFP. <br />City of San Leandro RFP for State Legislative Advocacy Services Page 2 <br />
