IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 2014-015 <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF A REPLACEMENT MOBILE <br /> NEGOTIATIONS OPERATION COMMAND VEHICLE AND APPROPRIATION OF $60,000 <br /> FROM THE STATE SUPPLEMENTAL LAW ENFORCEMENT SPECIAL FUND <br /> WHEREAS, during a critical incident or major disaster, a Mobile Negotiations Operation <br /> Command Vehicle must be able to function reliably; and <br /> WHEREAS, the current Hostage Negotiations Team (HNT) Negotiations Operation <br /> Command Vehicle is a 1979 GMC with 260,000 miles, in poor condition, unreliable in emergency <br /> situations, and at the end of its useful lifecycle; and <br /> WHEREAS, a replacement Mobile Negotiations Operation Command Vehicle, equipped to <br /> operate as an emergency command post as well as an emergency communication center, would <br /> allow Police personnel to effectively negotiate in critical situations, and be an asset to the City <br /> during any type of critical incident or major disaster. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as <br /> follows: <br /> 1. That the purchase of a new Mobile Negotiations Operation Command Vehicle is <br /> hereby authorized. <br /> 2. That an appropriation of$60,000 from Account No. 150-21-011-7410, the State <br /> Supplemental Law Enforcement Special Fund, is hereby authorized for the cost and outfitting of <br /> the Mobile Command Vehicle. <br /> Introduced by Councilmember Cutter and passed and adopted this 18th day of February, <br /> 2014, by the following vote: <br /> Members of the Council: <br /> AYES: Councilmembers Cutter, Gregory, Lee, Prola, Reed, Souza (6) <br /> NOES: None (0) <br /> ABSENT: Mayor Cassidy (1)`' <br /> ATTEST: 1/ AA/t.GM <br /> Marian Handa, City Clerk <br />
