Procedure in the case of a vessel sinking at the San Leandro Marina Harbor(no injury) <br /> 1. Place absorbent booms around the vessel. The tubing is used to absorb any <br /> leaking fuel, oil, or solvents that may leak from the vessel from traveling <br /> within the harbor. <br /> 2. Notify the Property owner. <br /> 3. Notify the Marina Manager. <br /> 4. If fuel leak is not critical notify the National Response Center first. If critical <br /> notify the Marina Safety Office First. The following agencies must be <br /> notified: <br /> a. National Response Center(same as Coast Guard) (800) 424-8802 <br /> b. Marine Safety Center(415) 399-3593 <br /> c. Coast Guard (415) 556-2103 <br /> d. California Office of Emergency Services (800) 852-7550 <br /> e. The Department of Fish and Game will be notified by the National <br /> Response Center and will contact the Marina. <br /> 5. The Coast Guard and the Department of Fish and Game will respond and do a <br /> site inspection. Take the officer to the site and answer any questions. A <br /> report will be filed by the agency. <br /> 6. Periodically check to make sure the absorbent booms and pads are still in <br /> place. If the booms have reached the maximum absorbency replace with new <br /> ones and put the old ones in 55 gal drums. <br /> 7. After the incident is rectified call a Hazardous Materials company to dispose <br /> of the absorbent material. <br /> 8. It is the property owner's responsibility to remove the vessel from the harbor. <br /> Revised 04/26/13 <br />
