If the City fails within 30 days of said written notice from the Port to <br />take all actions necessary at the City's sole cost and expense to cure any defect in the interest granted by <br />the Easement and to cause any such financial indebtedness lien or encumbrance to be removed or <br />subordinated so that the Port is able to secure the above - described policy of title insurance, then all money <br />deposited by the Port in the Escrow Account for that property shall immediately be retumed to the Port and <br />the Port shall have no further obligation under this Agreement regarding the library. <br />7.Safety Issues. The,.Port shall designate a representative of the Airport to be named as the <br />Safety Liaison to the City. The Safety Liaison shall assist the City with aircraft emergency preparedness <br />and community education outreach programs by: <br />a) Inviting City personnel to each annual FAA - mandated Airport safety exercise. • This <br />includes full -scale emergency drills and table -top exercises; <br />b) Conducting combined emergency briefings/workshops for City officials and the public <br />about issues associated with airport emergencies. An initial briefing/workshop shall be provided at a. <br />mutually- agreeable date within 12 months after the effective date of this Agreement. The initial <br />briefing /workshop shall be convened as a Safety Summit to which the Alameda County Fire Department, <br />the Oakland Fire Department ( "OFD "), the City of Oakland Police Department, the City of San Leandro <br />Police Department and the Coast Guard shall be invited to participate. Subsequent briefings /workshops <br />shall be provided by the Pod as changed conditions warrant, but in no event less than once every year <br />after the initial briefing /workshop if requested by the City. <br />c) The Port shall provide a report to the City no later than 12 months after the effective date <br />of -this Agreement that sets forth the Ports emergency response program in the event that an air disaster <br />City of San Leandro and Port of Oakland Page 23 <br />Settlement Agreement <br />29a4a
