City of San Leandro Meeting Date: June 16, 2014 Resolution - Council Agenda Section:File Number:14-236 CONSENT CALENDAR Agenda Number: TO:City Council FROM:Chris Zapata City Manager BY:Rich Pio Roda City Attorney FINANCE REVIEW:David Baum Finance Director TITLE:RESOLUTION Approving, and Authorizing the City Manager to Execute , a Lease of Approximately 3,675 Square Feet of Office Space on the Second Floor of San Leandro City Hall, Formerly Occupied by the Alameda County Fire Department, to the San Leandro Unified School District for Public School District Administration Purposes (leases space at a rent of $56,000 for the first year, to escalate by the Consumer Price Index [CPI] each year, for a term of 5 years, with an option for an additional 5 years) RECITALS WHEREAS, a Lease agreement between the City of San Leandro and the San Leandro Unified School District for available office space on the second floor of City Hall , a copy of which is attached, has been presented to this City Council; and WHEREAS, the City Council is familiar with the contents thereof; and WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends approval of said agreement; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds that entering into this Lease is in the best interest of the City, in that it promotes the public health and welfare, and meets one of the City Council’s goals: Maintain and support a strong positive relationship between the City, schools and the educational community. NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as follows: That said Lease agreement with the San Leandro Unified School District for $56,000 for the first year, to escalate by the Consumer Price Index [CPI] each year, for a term of 5 years, with an option for an additional 5 years, is hereby approved and execution by the City Manager is hereby authorized, subject to minor amendments and changes by the City Page 1 City of San Leandro Printed on 6/10/2014
