City of San Leandro <br />Meeting Date: June 16, 2014 <br />Resolution - Council <br />Agenda Section:File Number:14-236 CONSENT CALENDAR <br />Agenda Number: <br />TO:City Council <br />FROM:Chris Zapata <br />City Manager <br />BY:Rich Pio Roda <br />City Attorney <br />FINANCE REVIEW:David Baum <br />Finance Director <br />TITLE:RESOLUTION Approving, and Authorizing the City Manager to Execute , a <br />Lease of Approximately 3,675 Square Feet of Office Space on the Second <br />Floor of San Leandro City Hall, Formerly Occupied by the Alameda County <br />Fire Department, to the San Leandro Unified School District for Public School <br />District Administration Purposes (leases space at a rent of $56,000 for the first <br />year, to escalate by the Consumer Price Index [CPI] each year, for a term of 5 <br />years, with an option for an additional 5 years) <br />RECITALS <br />WHEREAS, a Lease agreement between the City of San Leandro and the San <br />Leandro Unified School District for available office space on the second floor of City Hall , a <br />copy of which is attached, has been presented to this City Council; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council is familiar with the contents thereof; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends approval of said agreement; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council finds that entering into this Lease is in the best interest of <br />the City, in that it promotes the public health and welfare, and meets one of the City Council’s <br />goals: Maintain and support a strong positive relationship between the City, schools and the <br />educational community. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as <br />follows: <br />That said Lease agreement with the San Leandro Unified School District for $56,000 <br />for the first year, to escalate by the Consumer Price Index [CPI] each year, for a term of 5 <br />years, with an option for an additional 5 years, is hereby approved and execution by the City <br />Manager is hereby authorized, subject to minor amendments and changes by the City <br />Page 1 City of San Leandro Printed on 6/10/2014
